“The Vision”

Verse 1 & 2:
In the year that king Uzziah died, in a vision I was shown,
I saw the Lord exalted as He sat upon His throne,
And His train filled the temple, I could not believe my eyes,
For I saw Him in His glory, Almighty God, lifted high,

High above the throne I could see standing over Him,
Angelic holy creatures, They were the seraphim,
And two wings covered their feet, And two covered their face,
And as they flew around the throne, I can still hear them say!

Chorus:
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, Holy, Holy,
The whole earth is filled with your glory.

Verse 3 & 4:
Well my heart was overtaken by all I did behold,
For at the sound of their voices the foundations trembled,
And suddenly all around me the whole temple filled with smoke,
And then I lifted my voice and this is what I spoke,

Oh woe is me I cried out I am ruined, I am undone,
I'm a man who has unclean lips, And so the people I'm among,
For my eyes have seen the Lord God,
I have just beheld the King!
He is the Lord Almighty, And I am so unclean!

Verse 5:
Then I looked to see a seraphim flying towards me,
And in his hand he carried a coal that burned brightly,
Then he touched my mouth and my lips,
He said “Your sins are washed away!”
For you have been forgiven, and I can still hear them say!
